Technologies Transforming the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Industries

Pharma 4.0 and Digital Health

Pharma 4.0 refers to the integration of cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence/ machine learning, the internet of things, and advanced analytics, into the pharmaceutical industry.  This integration allows us to create more efficient and effective processes, leading to faster drug development, drug products and improved patient outcomes.

On the other hand, Digital Health encompasses a wide range of technologies, products, and services that use digital and communication technologies to improve healthcare delivery, including electronic health records (EHRs), telemedicine, remote therapy, mobile health (mHealth), health information technology, (IT), wearables and medical imaging.

However, it’s important we utilise the abundance of this healthcare data.  As, unused data not only hampers innovation—it also hurts business. Today, drug development takes over 10 years and costs $2.6B on average.  With the advancement in AI, that is slowly starting to change.

And data is healthy if it is easily discoverable, understandable, and of value to the stakeholders that need to use it, and these characteristics are sustained throughout its lifecycle.  You’ll know that your business’s data is healthy when you can prove it’s valid, complete, and of sufficient quality to produce analytics that decision makers can feel comfortable relying on, for business decisions.

Healthy data means that everyone in the business can:
